Drive-buy Shooting
Drive-buy Shooting is a project that researches general strategies for intensification of building near infrastructures. Taking as a case study the area of the South train station in Delft, most specifically the connection between the road A4 with the A13, we analyzed different possibilities of combining urban program with infrastructure.
For a lot of urban program like large scale retail, supermarkets, sport facilities, bus stations, etc. accessibility is vital, therefore locations alongside the highway or highway intersections are privileged spots for intensification of this sort of urban program.
Our conclusions from the design studies we produced along this research are: at this moment infrastructure and buildings are developed separately and placed next to each other. When this separation is abandoned and buildings merge with infrastructure new programmatic and formal possibilities will emerge.
Infrastructure becomes a motive to form the shapeless buildings alongside the highway. A ‘swinging’ highway landscape can emerge.
