{"id":216,"date":"2010-04-15T10:31:01","date_gmt":"2010-04-15T10:31:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.elstudio.nl\/?p=216"},"modified":"2024-07-15T11:57:56","modified_gmt":"2024-07-15T11:57:56","slug":"e-vlot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.elstudio.nl\/?p=216","title":{"rendered":"Honorable Mention for floating sustainable Add-On for houseboats."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Honorable Mention in the competition &#8220;Duurzaam Drijvend Wonen&#8221; for our concept for autarkic units to make hose boats more self-sufficient and sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>For the competition for sustainable floating living \u201cDuurzaam Drijvend Bouwen\u201d organized by the Amsterdam Stadsdeel Oost-Watergraafsmeer we proposed A concept for an autarkic unit that aims to increase the self-sustainability of houseboats. Instead of designing yet another houseboat, we opted to develop a floating service unit that helps houseboats become self-sufficient and environmentally friendly. This unit contains water purification and water storage, power transformers and energy storage, and finally, waste storage.<br>These flexible units are plugged into both new and existing buildings.
